Refunds
When you can stop, and when money comes back.
Bayerische Motoren sells used engines. A refund is part of the scheme of work, not a surprise. Read this before you pay. The short version: it is easy to stop before the crate leaves. It is fair to return an engine that is not the one on the page. It is not fair to rebuild a car around an engine and then ask for a new plan.
Before we pack
If you have paid and the engine is still on the shelf, you can stop. Tell us on the contact page. We return the engine price. If a shipping fee was paid and the pallet has not moved, that fee comes back too. Say you want to stop in plain words. You do not need a special form.
The wrong engine
On the day the crate arrives, compare three things with the page: the code, the photo, and the list of what was included. If the engine is not the unit you were shown, or a named part is missing, do not fit it. Tell us the same day, with photos. We will take it back and return the money for the engine, or send the missing named part, whichever you choose. You should not pay to keep a mistake.
After you start the fit
Once the engine is mounted, opened, or changed, a refund becomes a warranty question, not a change-of-mind question. A workshop can find a fault. That path is on the warranty page. A workshop cannot unbolt a finished job and call it a refund because the car took longer than hoped.
If you skipped the VIN
The scheme asks for a VIN match before you pay. If you insist on an engine after we say it does not fit, that choice is yours. A later refund is not owed for a fit we already refused. If we said yes and the code was still wrong for that VIN, that is our mistake, and the refund rule for the wrong engine applies.
How the money moves
A refund goes back the way the payment came, when that path allows it. We say the timing in the same reply that confirms the return. We do not invent a fee at the last minute to keep part of the engine price. Return shipping, if the engine must come back, is named before you send it.
