Warranty
Up to twelve months, only when we write it down.
A warranty at Bayerische Motoren is a written promise on a named engine. If the card or the certificate does not state a warranty, do not assume one. When it applies, it is up to twelve months from the day the engine leaves.
What it can cover
A fault in the long block you were sold, found inside the written time, and reported before the engine is modified to hide the fault. We want the code, the date on the certificate, and a short description. Photos help.
What it does not cover
A wrong installation. Running the engine with no oil or no coolant. A car the VIN did not describe. Parts we never said were in the crate. Wear that was already visible in the photos you approved. Labour at your workshop, unless we agree that cost in writing.
What you do first
Stop using the engine if a serious fault shows. Tell us before anyone opens the block. A warranty is easier to see on an untouched engine. We will say whether the fault sits inside the written promise, and whether the path is a repair, a replacement, or a refund of the engine price.
